David Brydon

David is a chemical engineer whose career started with a research project related to oil refinery operation. He moved into the water industry over 20 years ago and has worked for two of the largest water companies in the UK. He is a chartered engineer and a chartered water and environmental manager. David now acts as a trade effluent consultant to all industries.

Background

David began his process engineering career with a research project about distillation columns. In 1997 he moved into the UK water industry and has been closely involved with it ever since. After working for two of the UK's largest water companies, David formed Blackwell Water Consultancy Ltd in 2009. Since then, David has worked on over 50 contracts with more than 35 different clients.

David is a chemical engineer and has over 20 years of experience of using those skills in water, wastewater and effluent treatment. He also has experience of sewer network design and once even had a brief foray into the design of water mains.

David also has very considerable experience of statistical analysis of process data, both for fault-finding, optimisation, design and modelling and he's used these particular skills for many clients in the UK and overseas.

David's experience covers all aspects of the design and operation of water, wastewater and effluent treatment. This covers:

hydraulics
optimisation
cost estimation
data analysis

He has a strong interest in managing effluent in manufacturing areas to reduce effluent volume and contaminant loads at source, minimise product loss and maximise resource recovery.

We work with lots of suppliers of equipment but we are not tied to any of them. We guarantee that any solutions we develop will be formed independently of any equipment suppliers and our advice will always be impartial.
